The Arduino Mega 2560 Device Driver Software Was Not Successfully Installed On Windows 7

I have seen a few people who have had trouble getting their Arduino drivers installed correctly. The ‘Installing drivers for the Arduino Uno with Windows7, Vista, or XP’ section on the Arduino ’Getting Started’ page says you will get the following error and will have to install the drivers in the device manager. No problem… Until you see that the board is not showing up under ‘Ports (COM & LPT)’.

Arduino driver not found errorHow to install the drivers:

  1. Right-click ‘Computer’ on your Desktop and go to ‘Properties’.
  2. Click ‘Device Manager’ in the upper left of ‘Control Panel\System and Security\System’.
  3. You will see ‘Arduino Mega ADK’ under ‘Other devices’. Right-click it and select ‘Update Driver Software…’.Windows 7 device manager
